PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nursery pot container capable of allowing a seedling to be transplanted in a transplanting site in combination with the nursery pot container without taking out the seedling therefrom, facilitating the growth of the plant in the soil at the transplanting site, and requiring no soil to be packed in the pot when transplanting the seedling in the pot or sowing seeds in the pot, and further to provide the nursery bed therefor. SOLUTION: This nursery bed is formed out of a foaming raw material of a polyurethane, and has linking, water-absorbing and water-retaining properties and biodegradability suitable for raising of the seedling. The nursery pot material comprises the nursery bed and a biodegradable pot container. The nursery bed is composed of a polyurethane foam in the open cell structure characterized in that the cell diameter is within the range regulated so that the number of the cells may be 30-100/25 mm, the air permeability is within the range regulated so as to be 60-160 l/min, and the foam has water absorptivity and air permeability. The nursery pot material can allow the root of the plant to goodly grow not only in the germination of the plant but also after being germinated and buried in the soil.
