METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING RAPIDLY SOLIDIFIED THIN STRIP AND DEVICE FOR REMOVING INITIAL STAGE PART OF THIN STRIP CASTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the breakage of a thin strip during winding in a producing facility of a raidly solidified thin strip with a single roll method. ;SOLUTION: The thin strip is wound after removing the initial stage part of casting of the thin strip. The tip part of the thin strip before arrival at a winding roll, is detached with a gas injection, and when the detached thin strip becomes a prescribed length, the gas injection is stopped and the detached thin strip is held to remove the initial stage part of the casting. This producing apparatus is composed of a cooling roll, a casting part, a coiling roll and a removing device, and this removing device is constituted of a gas nozzle disposed toward the circular surface of the cooling roll before the thin strip comes to the winding roll and a holding tool for the detached thin strip. This removing device for the initial stage part of the casting is composed of the gas nozzle having a slitting state of nozzle hole and the holding tool, and the holding tool is constituted of needles attached to the gas nozzle and the tip parts of the needles are arranged by projecting from the nozzle hole toward the gas injection direction. Thus, the producing yield is improved and the defective part in a product is not generated and the casting operation is stabilized.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
