PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a burden to a copy cutter in underground joint type tunnel excavator, thereby preventing a decrease in excavation efficiency and improving the reliability and permitting the excavation for a tunnel having a small diameter. ;SOLUTION: A cutter ring 43 comprising an outer ring 44 and an inner ring 45 in a front drum 11 is installed, a cutter revolving motor 27 is used as a turning drive source for the inner ring 45, docking pins 71 are installed to a face plate 20 of a cutter head 17 at equal intervals, and the cutter head 17 and the inner ring 44 are made rotatable as one united body by linking the docking pin 71 to the linking gutter 73 of the inner ring 45 by means of a docking jack 72.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
