PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of recording signal by minutely controlling a recording power in accordance with a change in the medium sensitivity of a disk shape coloring matter medium.;SOLUTION: The signal recording surface of an optical disk 2 is irradiated with a laser beam having the recording power and a reproducing power corresponding to the code of a binary recording code string, the recording power and the reproducing power of the laser beam are monitored, and subjected to constant value control with previously set recording target power and reproducing target power as a target respectively, a reflection light amount from the optical disk 2 when the reproducing power is irradiated is detected, the recording target power is corrected reversely to the largeness of the reproduction reflection light amount and recording quality is kept regardless of a medium sensitivity. The recording quality is normally made to be stable even when the wave length of the laser beam emitted from an optical head 4 becomes longer as temperature rises to change the reflectance of the laser beam on the signal recording surface of the optical disk 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
