PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for measuring present state of road surface, by which wheel tracks, etc., which have been difficult to be detected by the conventional method and instrument due to displacement sensors fixed at prescribed intervals along the direction perpendicular to the advancing direction of a vehicle and forming dead angles among them, can be detected. ;SOLUTION: This method and apparatus for measuring present state of road surface are constituted, in such a way that the rugged state of a road surface (8) in a direction perpendicular to the advancing direction of the vehicle (1), can be obtained continuously as numerical data by of a displacement sensor (2), which linearly moves forwards and backwards via a guide member (3A) attached to the vehicle (1).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
