PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the torque transmitting characteristic and/or the converting characteristic from the torque to the force in a steering system for vehicle having an electric actuator. ;SOLUTION: A steering system for a vehicle has a steering actuator 12 for a wheel 10. A shaft 28 is provided so as to pass through the inside of a housing 14 for the actuator 12 and a rotor tube 56, which is supported on a bearing so as to be rotated inside the housing 14. An outside end of the shaft 28 is connected to the wheel 10. When steering the wheel 10, a motor 52 inside the housing 14 rotates the rotor tube 56. A female screw 68 on the rotor tube 56 and a male screw 70 on the shaft 28 are connected to each other so as to be operated by a pair 74 of transmitting rollers 76 for transmission of two-way movement between the rotor tube 56 and the shaft 28. The rotation of the rotor tube 56 generates an axial displacement of the housing 14 of the shaft 28, and this displacement generates the rotation of the rotor tube 56.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
