PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarm device for illegal parking and stopping of vehicles and a method therefor for preventing a driver from parking or stopping its vehicle illegally by mistake or intentionally by warning the driver of an illegal parking and stopping area when the driver park or stop its vehicle in the illegal parking and stopping area. ;SOLUTION: These device include a prescribed position information supply part 10 which senses the present position of a vehicle and supplies the position information on the vehicle, the traveling state sensor means 20 and 30 which sense the traveling states of the vehicle, a control means 40 which judges whether or not the vehicle parks or stops in a parking and stopping inhibited area that is previously set according to the position and traveling states which where sensed by the part 10 and means 20 and 30 respectively and then outputs a control signal to produce an alarm according to the result of the judgment and an alarm generation part 70 which produces an alarm in response to the control signal that is received from the means 40.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
