PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more correctly transfer papers thereby improving a recording quality by correcting a deviation in transfer amount in a vertical direction of the papers at a recording apparatus. ;SOLUTION: An execution number of corrections corresponding to a recording mode is obtained beforehand by testing a printer. When printing is carried out, the execution number of corrections corresponding to a recording mode is selected (step S11). When the printing is started, a cumulative number NA of transfers from a use start of the printer is read out and counted (steps S12 and S13). After the printing is executed in a horizontal direction (step S14), the NA is compared with the execution number of corrections. When the NA is equal to the execution number, transfer is carried out in a vertical direction by a transfer amount ('+) obtained by adding a correction amount to a normal transfer amount ' of one time (step S17). When the NA is not equal to the execution number, transfer by the transfer amount ' is carried out in the vertical direction (step S16).
