PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a refractory improving the workability and having excellent erosion resistance by containing respective specified rations of alumina quality refractory agglegate, magnesia powder or chromium oxide powder and ceramic fine powder composed of alumina fine powder and silica fine powder, and hydraulic setting binder.;SOLUTION: Monolithic refractory material contains, by wt.%, 48-77% alumina quality refractory agglegate, 0.7-18% magnesia powder or the chromium oxide powder, 12-32% ceramic fine powder composed of the alumina fine powder, the silica fine powder and 2-10% hydraulic setting binder. To 100 pts.wt. of this monolithic refractory raw material, 4-7 pts.wt. water is added and kneaded, and this is burnt to form the monolithic refractory. The magnesia powder is applied with a fire-resistant coating which does not generate hydroxide by reacting with the water on the surface. The ceramic fine powder is preferably to be 0.1-50 m average grain diameter. In the ceramic fine powder, the blending ratio of the alumina fine powder is set to be 8-30% and the blending ratio of the silica fine powder is set to be 1-10%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
