PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability and efficiency of an optical fiber communication circuit by switching a pumping light radiation source according to the change of pumping light radiation that is caused in an active core optical fiber. SOLUTION: In regard to an amplifier 6, only one of two lasers, e.g. the laser shown by a reference figure 19, for example, operates to send the pumping energy of wavelength 2 necessary for amplification to an active core optical fiber 16. The pumping light radiation of wavelength 2 is modulated with low frequency m6 by a variable current generator, for example. Then the remaining pumping power of wavelength 2 is modulated by a control signal m6/10 and monitored as a control signal by a microprocessor circuit 29 of the amplifier 6. Thereby the circuit 29 is instructed to output the signals Inb and I' nb to a relay. These output signals switch off a laser source 19 and switch on a laser source 20 respectively.
