PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the quick sexing of fowl eggs enabling the automatic sexing by the use of a computer system by comparing the discrimination value of the shape of a fowl with the standard value.;SOLUTION: A hen's egg is photographed and the image is inputted into a computer and scanned to perform the contour recognition. The inclination of the image is calculated from the coordinates and the inclination angle is corrected if any. The corrected image is scanned, the contour is recognized and the principal dimensions of the egg are calculated from the coordinates. The value (y/x) is calculated in the step 131 to obtain a discrimination value, which is compared with the standard value in the step 132. The egg having the discrimination value shifted to the male side relative to the standard value is judged to be male and displayed as male 14. The value of L/(y/2) is calculated on the egg which cannot be judged to be male by the step 132 and the obtained discrimination value is compared with the standard value in the step 134. The egg having the discrimination value shifted to the male side relative to the standard value is also judged to be male and displayed as male 14.
