PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily locate a ground-fault direction or a short-circuiting fault generating direction in a supply side electric place end resistance grounded aerial power distribution line. SOLUTION: Identifying units 7a, 7b are provided at arbitrary two masts of an aerial power distribution line to recognize that a fault position is located between the unit 7a for detecting a ground-fault current 6 or a short-circuiting fault current 9 and the unit 7b for detecting nothing. When the distribution line to the line ground fault 5 occurs, the fault direction unit 7a of the electric place 1 detects a fault by electric field and magnetic field sensors 14a, 14b.
