PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deviation between a reproduced image and a reproduced audio signal by synchronizing reproduction processing between audio data and image data despite of the processing capability in an image output device.;SOLUTION: The image output device 110 is provided with 1st and 2nd decoders 11a, 11b that decode coded image object data E1, E2 corresponding to 1st and 2nd objects, an image data synthesis means 12 that synthesized outputs of the decoders for each frame for a prescribed synthesis period, a buffer 13 that stores synthesis data Cd being the output of the means 12 by a prescribed number of frames, and an image output means 14 that reads the synthesis data from the buffer 13 and provides the output. The image data synthesis period in the image synthesis means 12 is decided on the basis of a result of comparison between a display schedule time T depending on the processing capability of the image output device and a setting display time Tout when the synthesis data stored in the buffer are to be displayed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
