PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate hollow metallic balls from metallic pieces of casting flash, etc., and to enable the recovery of the hollow metallic balls by charging the hollow metallic balls and the metallic pieces into liquid, floating up the hollow metallic balls on the liquid surface and recovering the hollow metallic balls with a scraping plate or wind force. ;SOLUTION: The hollow iron balls 6 and the iron pieces 31 fed with a belt conveyor 16 are charged into water in a vessel 42 and then, the hollow iron balls 6 are floated up in the water surface and the iron pieces 31 having larger sp. gr. than that of the water is sunk down in the vessel 42. Hereafter, the hollow iron balls 6 are shifted to a ball incorporating vessel 45 side by driving the scraping plate device 43 to incorporate the hollow iron balls 6 into the vessel 45. In other way, the hollow iron balls 6 are shifted to the ball incorporating vessel 45 side by the blasting force of a blower 44 to incorporate the hollow iron balls 6 into the ball incorporating vessel 45. The hollow iron balls 6 supplied from the vessel 42 to a belt conveyor 46 are supplied into a ball feeder tank 49 through a conveyor 48 with a bucket elevator 47 and further, supplied into a molding machine 50 from the tunk 49.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
