PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a degradation monitoring method for a seismic base isolating device, and a degradation monitor for the seismic base isolating device, permitting easy monitoring of the degraded state of the seismic base isolating device built in a building and difficult or impossible to monitor. ;SOLUTION: A tested body 1 constituted to be equivalent to an isolator of the seismic base isolating device is pressurized by a pressurizing means 2 comprising a hydraulic cylinder, at a pressure equivalent to load applied to the isolator of the seismic base isolating device, and the deformation quantity of the tested body 1 is monitored through a gauge to monitor the degraded state of the isolator of the seismic base isolating device.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
