PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate necessity of a strong tensile force to an endless sheet when the sheet wrapped on a drive roller and a driven roller is rotated by respectively providing gears at a roller shaft of the drive roller and a roller shaft of the driven roller adjacent to the drive roller and engaging the respective gears. ;SOLUTION: A sheet running mechanism 6 and a reader 7 are provided in a housing. The mechanism 6 has a motor 8 as a drive source, a drive roller 9, driven rollers 10 to 13 and an endless sheet 2 wrapped on the rollers. A gear 14 is fixed to a shaft end of the roller 9, and gears 14 to 16 are similarly fixed to the roller shafts of the driven rollers 11, 13 adjacent to the roller 9, and the gears 14 to 16 are engaged. Further, a pulley 17 is fixed to the shaft end of the roller 9, and a timing belt 18 is engaged under tension between the pulley 17 and a motor pulley 8a. When the sheet 2 is rotated, a strong tensile force is not required at the sheet 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
