THROW-AWAY END MILL AND THROW-AWAY TIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a stable cutting operation for long period even if two types of throw-away tips are not used in a throw-away end mill having two throw-away tips provided at the tip part of an end mill body.;SOLUTION: This throw-away end mill is formed by providing at least two throw-away tips 20 and 30 at the tip part of the end mill body 10. Two throw-away tips of generally equal-leg trapezoidal shape as viewed in a plane are installed at the tip end part of the end mill body so that the longer side of the parallel sides of one throw-away tip 20 becomes a bottom cutting blade 21 and one of the slanted sides becomes an outer periphery cutting blade 22. On the other hand, these tips are installed at the tip end part of the end mill body 10 so that one of the slanted sides of the other throw-away tip 30 becomes a bottom cutting blade 31 and the longer side of the parallel sides thereof becomes an outer periphery cutting blade 32.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
