PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for washing the filter surface of a slid-liquid separator capable of efficiently washing not only the filter surface but the inside of the filter surface as well to get rid of its clogging and a washing device. ;SOLUTION: The method for washing the filter surface of the solid-liquid separator or the washing device for the same comprising diffusing ozone onto the filter surface of the filter body of the solid-liquid separator having the filter body consisting of inorganic materials, such as ceramics and metals, and bringing the ozone into contact therewith and washing the filter surface by using the gaseous ozone, and the washing device and provided. In these method and device, the clogging of the filter surface is effectively prevented by oxidation decomposing foreign matter by the powerful oxidation power of the gaseous ozone.
