PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain zeolite higher in the separation ratio of nitrogen to oxygen by adsorption and excellent in the separation efficiency and to provide a method for separating oxygen from nitrogen by using the zeolite. ;SOLUTION: Such NaA type zeolite exchanged with potassium ion is obtained by exchanging 1-15% of sodium ions of NaA type starting zeolite with potassium ions, as has the separation ratio S of nitrogen to oxygen more excellent than that of the NaA type starting zeolite and the effectual amount of nitrogen to be adsorbed. Oxygen and nitrogen are respectively separated from a gas containing oxygen and nitrogen by a PSA method by using this zeolite.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
