ARTIFICIAL LAWN CONTAINING GRANULAR MATTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aritificial lawn which allows shoes of e.g. tennis player to keep a proper slide characteristic and increases the speed of tennis ball thereon by using a mixture of polyethylene resin fiber and polypropylene resin fiber that are stranded at a specified ratio. ;SOLUTION: Polypropylene resin fiber 11 and polyethylene resin fiber 12 are planted strandedly as a composite lawn thread in a base cloth 2. A backing layer 3 is provided on a rear surface of the basic cloth 2, and a granular matter layer 4 filled with natural silica sand is layed between the lawn threads. The polypropylene resin fiber is excellent in durability and fatigue resistance while the polyethylene resin fiber is excellent in a low wear coefficient and fatigue resistance. The ratio between the areas of both the fibers 11, 12 protruding from the layer 4 is set 20:80-80:20. Accordingly, the purpose is attained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
