PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strontium ferrite particle powder for a bonded magnet, having a favorable particle shape and particle size as a bonded magnet, and high saturation magnetization s. ;SOLUTION: The composition of this strontium ferrite particle powder for the bonded magnet is expressed by (Sr1-xAx)O.n[(Fe1-yBy)2O3] (where A is La, La-Nd, La-Pr or La-Nd-Pr, B is Zn or Zn-Co, n=5.80 to 6.10, x=0.1 to 0.5, y=0.0083 to 0.042 respectively). The particle powder is a strontium ferrite particle powder of magnetoplumbite type, having an average particle size in the range of 1 to 3 m, whose saturation magnetization s is not less than 73 Am2/kg (73 emu/g). Furthermore, the strontium ferrite particle powder of magnetoplumbite type comprises, in the particle powder, flat particles of not less than 60% for the ratio of number.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
