PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make correctable the position and the angle in a lens barrel in a condition where the unit is arranged at the principal focus of a telescope, in a principal focus unit for observation at the principal focus of the telescope.;SOLUTION: A first frame body 38 fixed to the lens barrel top inner tube 26 of the telescope is provided. A second frame body 42 is connected to the frame body 38 through a stuart platform 76 including six jacks and three pre- load screws. An observation device 58 for collecting observation data and a compensating optical system 52 for performing optical compensation are arranged inside the frame body 42. When a deviation occurs in the relative positions and the relative angles of the telescope and the observation device in accordance with the posture change of the telescope, the deviation can be eliminated by the adjustment of the platform 76.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
