PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely correct an attitude by constituting both end parts related to the short side of a shield body so as to be freely tiltable in the short side direction, and including a pair of blocks for generating the rotation moment in the shield body by receivivng earth pressure from the front direction to a surface related to the long side at inclining time. ;SOLUTION: In a rectangular cross-sectional shield machine M1, the boring advancing directional right side is lower than a plan height, and the left side rises. When extending a right lower tilting jack 21b simultaneously when contractedly retreating a right upper tilting jack 21a, a right wing block 11 tilts to the short side directional upper side. When contractedly retreating a left lower tilting jack 22b simultaneously when extending a left upper tilting jack 22a, a left wing block 12 tilts to the short side directional lower side. Thus, the rectangular cross-sectional shield machine M1 rises on the boring advancing directional right side according to a boring advance, and performs operation for lowering the boring advance directional left side to easily and surely correct an attitude.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
