PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect changes of the attitude of an object irrelevantly to conditions of lighting, etc. ;SOLUTION: Image coordinates of the head top part of an object of behavior detection are detected from an image obtained by an image pickup means 100 (115, 150) and the real-world coordinates of the presence position of the object are detected in combination with estimated height (160). The obtained real-world coordinates are connected between frames and the apparent movement track of the object is found (730). A template of the movement track generated when the object has specific attitude variation at a movement track position is generated (720) and collated against the apparent movement track to decide whether or not the object has specific attitude variation according to the collating result (740).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
