ANALYTICAL PROCESS FOR ESTIMATION OF AMOUNT OF INTRAPERITONEAL ADIPOSE TISSUE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the amount of the subject intra-peritoneal adipose tissue independently from the amount of the subcutaneous adipose tissue in no need of any special device or apparatus by using the expression level of a specific gene transcript in the intraperitoneal adipose tissue as an index and relating it to the amount of the intraperitoneal adipose tissue.;SOLUTION: A gene transcript selected from one or more gene transcripts including the base sequence coding for the amino acid sequences represented by formula I, formula II and the like, and the gene transcripts that can hybridize with the DNA having the base sequence of formula III, formula IV and the like under the stringent conditions is expressed in the intraperitoneal adipose tissue and its expression level is used as an index. This expression level is related to the amount of the intraperitoneal adipose tissue, on the basis of the correlation between this expression level and the area space of the intraperitoneal adipose tissue on the abdominal cross section at the navel position whereby the amount of intraperitoneal adipose tissue can be estimated in no need of an specific apparatus of expensiveness independently from the subcutaneous adipose tissue.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
