SOLUTION: Low gloss lead-free cationic electrodeposition coating compositions comprise a cationic group-containing base resin, a blocked isocyanate based curing agent, and a zinc compound with a content of the zinc compound of 0.2-1 pt.wt. in terms of zinc ion based on 100 pts.wt. of the coating solids content and do not contain a tin based catalyst. Preferably, the compositions further comprise crosslinked resin fine particles.
