"FENIL ESTER ALPHA-AMINO ACID DERIVATIVE, PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION, AND USE OF A FENIL ESTER ALPHA-AMINO ACID DERIVATIVE" The present invention relates to derivatives of the phenyl ester 244 -amino acid which has the general formula (I): in that R ~ 1 ~ is alkyloxy (C ~ 1-3 ~); R ~ 2 ~ is alkyl (C ~ 1-3 ~), alkyloxy (C ~ 1-3 ~) or alkenyl (C ~ 2-3 ~); R ~ 3 ~ is hydrogen, alkyl (C ~ 1-3 ~), alkyloxy (C ~ 1-3 ~) or alkenyl (C ~ 2-3 ~); R ~ 4 ~ is alkyl (C ~ 1-6 ~); R ~ 5 ~ and R ~ 6 ~ are independently alkyl (C ~ 1-6 ~), alkenyl (C ~ 2-6 ~), alkynyl (C ~ 2-6 ~) or aralkyl, each of which can be optionally substituted by alkyloxy (C ~ 1-3 ~), alkyloxy (C ~ 1-3 ~) carbonyl, cyano or NR ~ 7 ~ R ~ 8 ~; R ~ 7 ~ and R ~ 8 ~ are independently alkyl (C ~ 1-6 ~); or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions which comprise said derivatives and the use of these phenyl-β-amino acid derivatives as hypnotics for the induction and maintenance of general anesthesia.
