The invented synchronous motor comprises an armature (60) with a yoke (1), a plurality of teeth (25) having each a first end solid with the yoke (1) and defining between each other slots (2), and coils (2) being partially disposed in the slots (2), so that they generate magnetic flux in teeth when the coils are excited, whereby the teeth (25) have each a second end opposite to the first end and forming a tooth head (62) having a first width (bd), whereby said slots (2) have each a second width (bn) at the level of said tooth heads (62), whereby the sum of the first and the second widths define tooth pitch ({tau}n). The motor further comprises an inductor (61) being disposed opposite to said tooth heads (62) and containing a plurality of permanent magnets (8) and a flux returning sole (9) on which the permanent magnets (8) are mounted. The teeth (25) have constant cross section between their first and second ends and the ratio of said second width (bn) to said tooth pitch ({tau}n) is between about 0,40 and 0,55.
