A novel crystal of (R)-1-(3-amino-4-benzyloxyphenyl)-2-(N-benzyl-N-[(R)-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1-methylethyl]amino]ethanol, and a method for producing N-(2-hydroxy-5-[(R)-1-hydroxy-2-[(R)-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1-methylethylamino]ethyl]phenyl]formamide (formoterol), which comprises using said crystals.
