A displaceable rotary body (7), having push belt mounting recesses (8) on its axial end faces, is disposed between facing friction surfaces (5,6) of bowl shaped wheels (3,4). One of the wheels is mounted to an input shaft (1), the other wheel is fixed to an output shaft (2). Both shafts are parallel and offset from each other. Friction surfaces (12,13) are formed on the recesses. The friction surfaces of the wheels serve as first and second friction surface. Friction surfaces of the recesses serve as third and fourth friction surfaces. When the input shaft rotates, one of the push belts (9) in either recess comes in contact with adjoining first and third friction surfaces, while the push belt in the other recess contacts adjoining second and fourth recesses. All of friction surfaces are assumed to be asymmetrical and have axial components. Either of first and third friction surfaces contains a radial component. Either of second and fourth friction surfaces also contains a radial component.
