A signal (10) dependent on motor speed is fed back to the frequency regulator (3) and energy optimization module (5). Any error between that and the control signal (6) results in a correction to the motor drive voltage. Given a stable situation, the driver voltage is slowly reduced so that the required rotational speed is barely maintained. Overload protection is incorporated.
