A composition comprises an anticancer chemotherapeutic agent and a polyether block copolymer operable to form a fluid composition upon mixing with water. The block copolymer comprises a plurality of linear polymeric segments. The repeating units have molecular weights between about 30 and about 500 and wherein at least about 80% of the linkages joining the repeating units for each of the polymeric segments comprise an ether linkage having a critical concentration of 0.000001 to 0.5%. The above composition is useful for treating resistance to a biological agent, cancer, tumour metastasis and microbial infections.
