Substituted 1,4-benzodioxane compounds having antidiabetic, antihyperglycemic, and antiobesity properties represented by formula (II) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, a salt thereof; an enantiomer thereof, the racemic mixtures thereof, and the diastereomeric mixtures thereof.
