Lipase catalyzed dynamic resolution of isoxazoline thioesters to isoxazoline carboxylic acids

A process for the preparation of optically active substituted isoxazolin-5-yl acetic acid compounds of formula (R)-(II) or (S)-(II), from a stereoisomeric mixture of an esterified substituted isoxazolin-5-yl acetate. Substituents of the above mentioned formulas are stated in the disclosure. The process involves lipase catalyzed transesterification. The products are useful in the synthesis of compounds for pharmaceuticals especially the treatment of thrombolytic disorders. The compounds may also be useful in agricultural products.
