The invention relates to a laser having two active media Nd: YAG with continuous wave operation mode and simultaneous switch using an acoustic-optical modulator and a Cr4+: YAG switch, meant to generate laser pulses with high repetition frequency, ranging from 1 to 130 kHz, and enhanced average power, namely over 200 W, applicable to the field of material processing. According to the invention, the laser comprises a frame (1) on which some mirrors (2, 3) are mounted with some active laser media (4) and a Cr4+: YAG passive switch (6) lying therebetween, said passive switch (6) being located next to a maximum reflectivity mirror (3), and also an acoustic-optical switch (5) located between said two active media (4), the optical path between the mirror (2) and the plane H1, the optical path between the mirror (3) and the main plane H2 and also the optical path between the main plane H2' and the main plane H1' being equally long.
