In the process for producing non-halogen, antimony and phosphorus-free polyamide fibers, the polyamide is mixed with 0.05 to 50% by weight, based on the total weight of the fiber composition, of an additive comprising a curable silicone and catalyst composition in the thermoplastic polymer matrix. The polyamide and the additive are mixed in the melt at a temperature in the range of from 250 to 300 ° C, and then the melt fibers are spun.
