A chilled merchandiser 1 with a chilling vat (cooling vat) is described. It is provided with cooling grids 8, 9 in the region of its mutually facing longitudinal and lateral walls 3, 4 and accommodates an air deflector device 12 which forms a suction channel (suction duct) 11, provided with a recirculating blower 18, and a distributor channel (distributor duct) 13 connected thereto with distributor openings 16 for the sucked air. In order to ensure a uniform temperature distribution, it is proposed that the distributor channel 13, which is sealed off from the longitudinal wall 3, extends from the suction channel 11, raised high at a side wall 4, via the floor region of the chilling vat 1 as far as the opposite side wall 4, and has distributor openings 16 that are distributed over the floor region and directed upwards.
