Method for detecting the growth of microorganisms in biological fluids and clinical samples by sonication. The procedure consists of the automatic measurement of the propagation velocity of an impulsive signal with a center frequency of 5 MHz through a sterile vessel containing a liquid culture medium which has previously been inoculated with a clinical sample of blood, urine or other organic fluid. The container and the liquid sample are to remain at a controlled temperature and fixed. Under standard conditions is set at 35 ° C. The measurement technique can use either the transmission-configuration through-transmission- two piezoelectric transducers facing either the pulse echo - pulse-ECHO- with a single transducer and a reflector facing and parallel to the emitting surface thereof . The ultrasonic pulse is processed after traversing the container, calculating by digital difference in time between the trigger signal and the arrival of that pulse. **FORMULA**
