DRY SOLIDS MATERIALS FEEDER WITH VIBRATORY MECHANISM AND A METHOD OF VIBRATING VARIOUS COMPONENT PARTS OF THE FEEDER

A volumetric dry solidsmaterials feeder comprises asupply hopper (12), a feed trough(26) disposed below the hopper,and an auger (28) disposed in thefeed trough (26) to feed out thematerial. The trough (26) isanchored to a vibration base (32),on which is mounted a vibratorymechanism (56). A vibrationtransfer spring (36) connects thevibration base (32) to a bracket(38) secured to the hopper (12).Upon activation, the vibratorymechanism (56) vibrates thevibration base (32) and thus, thetrough (26) at a predeterminedfrequency, while the spring (36)transfers the vibration to thehopper (12). The spring (36) lessensthe amplitude of the transferredvibration and changes thefrequency thereof, so as to minimizeinterference (primarily harmonicproblems) between the vibrationof the hopper (12) and trough(26).
