An apparatus for preventing circumferential separation of themeshing teeth (86, 72) of a driving gear means (84) rotatableabout a first axis in a first direction (26) and a drivengear means (70, 76) which is driven by the driving gearmeans (84) to rotate about a second axis in a seconddirection (28) opposite to the first direction (26), saidapparatus comprising: means for applying a firstcircumferential torque to the driving gear means (84) urgingthe driving gear means (84) in the first direction (26): andmeans for applying a second circumferential torque to thedriven gear means (70 ,78) urging the driven gearmeans (70, 76) in a direction opposite to the seconddirection (28): the magnitude of said circumferential torquebeing equal to the magnitude of said first circumferentialtorque.
