METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IMPLANTING AN ARTIFICIAL MESHWORK IN GLAUCOMA SURGERY

A method and device which is used to insert animplant in order for treating an eye with glaucoma inorder to lower the intraocular pressure of the eye. Theimplant (38) is an artificial meshwork. The implant (38)is attached to a guide knife (10) which is inserted intothe anterior chamber (56) of the eye (50). The knife(10) is then removed leaving the implant (38) in place.During the operation, a prismatic lens (74) with c-shapedvacuum ring (70) is used to help assist the surgeon inviewing the anterior chamber of the eye and containingthe eye.
