A number of cells each having a state storagemechanism and a state update mechanism are arranged in theform of a grid. The state storage mechanism includes partsopening and closing information to the remaining cells,and the state update mechanism includes open and closedupdate parts. The state update mechanism decides the nextstate on the basis of its own cell state and open statesof neighboring cells.
