In an assembly for remote control and/or remote operationof a field device by means of a controller via a fieldbus a program code describing the functionality of thisdevice is stored in the field device. The field devicecontains a processor in which the program code isimplementable. The controller is equipped with a run-timeenvironment in which the program code can be runfollowing transfer from the field device to thecontroller via the field bus. The remote control and/orremote operation of the field device is implementable bytransferring field device parameters via the field bus inthe run-time environment.
