An automated, real-time decision support system for reassigning, rescheduling,andrerouting aircraft in response to flight operation disruptions, in which setsof optimal solutions areprovided through use of evaluation statistics to assist operations managementin selecting theoptimal solution best conforming to operational constraints and userrequirements. Solutions aregenerated through the execution of unary operations, binary operations, three-way operations, andreverse binary operations on grounded aircraft routes, available aircraftroutes, and phantomroutes which implicitly canceled flights. Solutions are evaluated forfeasibility with respect tooperations constraints and user requirements. Marginal value calculators areused to differentiatefeasible solutions and identify optimal solutions. The marginal valuecalculators are dynamic,hierarchical calculators that permit use of multiple, prioritized, andweighted route and operationattributes in comparing solution values. Marginal value calculators areselected by means of adecision tree.
