The invention relates to a course-stable, fast, seagoing ship comprising ahull that is optimized for a rudder propeller. The inventive ship has a hulldesignated for accommodating cargo or passengers and has at least onerotatable, preferably electric rudder propeller (POD) (6) which is arrangedunder the hull of the ship in a gondola-like manner and which comprises atleast one motor generator unit for supplying power. Said motor generator unitis arranged in the hull of the ship, whereby the hull of the ship has, atleast in part, a bottom (11) which slopes upward approximately to both sidesof the hull. The front portion of the hull is designed to stabilize the courseand movement of the ship and terminates underwater, in particular, with arelatively narrow bow (2) comprising a bulb (3). In addition, a flow guidebody (skeg) (8) which is provided for optimizing the maneuverabilitycharacteristics as well as for optimizing the flow against the rudderpropeller (6) is arranged in front of each rudder propeller. Said flow guidebody has a volume of displacement for the water flowing against the respectiverudder propeller.
