Method and apparatus for pre-consultation interview

A pre-consultation tool (20) is provided for scheduling a consultation and for conducting a pre-consultation interview. The tool includes an expert system (23) to automate the collection of information (21) from the client concerning the subject of the consultation. A summary (28) of the collected information and a course of action recommended by the expert system are forwarded (32) to the consultant for review and possible approval. The consultant may also confirm a scheduled appointment and may set a duration of the appointment.
