The invention concerns cuvettes (1), and an automated biological analysis apparatus using such cuvettes (1) and means for transferring (7) the cuvettes (1) inside such an apparatus. The invention also concerns a method for transferring a cuvette (1) from a carousel (10) to another carousel (20) in a automated biological analysis apparatus, by means of a transfer fork. The method consists in: displacing simultaneously step by step (F1 and F2) the assembly of mobile upper wheels (13 and 23) of the carousels (10 and 20) of the apparatus; aligning a bore (11 or 21) of each mobile upper wheel (13 or 23), and the bores (15 or 25) of the fixed lower wheels (14 or 24), the upper carousel (10) having at that level a cuvette (1) while the lower carousel (20) has none; rotating the fork (8) so as to take charge of said cuvette (1); lowering (F6) said fork (8) and the cuvette (1) into said lower carousel (20); rotating (F4) the fork (8) to release said well (1); and raising the fork (8) into the upper carousel (10). The invention is particularly applicable in the field of diagnosis.
