Incentive program associated with equity acquisition

A method of implementing a loyalty-based reward plan for use by a participant (10) in a loyalty program involving equity ownership is disclosed. A transaction is conducted by the participant (10) with a merchant participating in the program. Points based on the transaction are awarded. The points are assigned a dollar value redeemable for use in acquiring an equity interest and/or a good and/or service.
