ENDORSER DEVICE AND IMAGE READING SYSTEM

An endorser device (2) which, while transferring documents, prints on read documents fed from an image reader (1) that reads documents, and which has an opening and closing mechanism (24, 31) for opening and closing the transfer path of a transfer mechanism (23, 29), and a control circuit (35) that controls the opening and closing mechanism (24, 31) in response to the output from a sensor (40) that detects documents. While the image reader is reading a document, the transfer path is opened so as not to transfer the document, thereby making it possible to prevent an image distortion in the contents of the reading of the document. Therefore, there is provided a general-purpose endorser device to be externally attached to an image reader.
