The invention concerns a device (1) for moving gauge blocks (2, 3), in order to compare their dimensions with a measuring apparatus (4), which device (1) comprises: a support (5), called measurement table, which defines a support and sliding plane (P) for the gauge blocks (2, 3); a component (6), called movement set, located above the measurement table (5) and bearing stops (61A, 62A) which, by co-operating with the lateral surfaces (2L, 3L) of the blocks, is designed to maintain them in specific position and orientation relative to the measuring apparatus (4), while allowing them to be supported freely on the measurement table (5) and is borne by guiding means (7) along at least an axis (A1, A2, A3) parallel to the support plane (P). Said device is characterised in that the movement set (6) consists of two distinct parts (61, 62) which can be displaced separately from each other.
